Warranty & Returns

Adapt-a-Stop guarantees their products under a series of warranties for manufacturing defects. Under the warranty policies, product believed to be a manufacturing defect will be repaired and/or replaced upon inspection of the issue. The customer is responsible for shipping the product to Adapt-a-Stop for inspection. At the discretion of Adapt-a-Stop, if the issue is deemed a manufacturing defect, the product will be repaired and/or replaced and returned/sent to the customer at no cost standard ground shipping. Free replacement products cannot be sent unless an assessment of the supposed defective product is made. At the discretion of Adapt-a-Stop, if the received product is deemed not to be a manufacturing defect, the customer will be notified and the product may be repaired and/or replaced at the customer’s cost. Shipping charges will be the customer’s responsibility for any items needing expedited shipping.

Issues that are not covered under the warranties include but are not limited to:

  • Mistreatment of product
  • Unauthorized alteration such as attempts to create a hole, bend, or cut a unit
  • Natural disasters
  • Failure to follow product installation instructions – (see Installation Instructions page)
  • Incorrect use
  • Theft
  • Loss
  • Vandalism
  • Destruction

Adapt-a-Stop does not accept returns of product due to shipping damage. In the event your order is damaged during shipment, customer must note with the shipping carrier that the item arrived damaged and contact Adapt-a-Stop within 72 hours of receipt.

Warranty Policies

Adapt-a-Stop warrants, to the extent and subject to the limitations described in this paragraph, that all Adapt-a-Stop products sold with the lifetime warranty to be free from defects in material and workmanship if properly installed, serviced and operated under normal conditions according to Adapt-a-Stop instruction. Adapt-a-Stop’s obligation under this Warranty is limited to correcting or replacing, at its option, any equipment or parts that shall be returned to Adapt-a-Stop, transportation prepaid, after being put into service by the original user, if Adapt-a-Stop is satisfied that the equipment was originally defective. The Lifetime Warranty shall not apply to any products that must be replaced because of normal wear, that have been subject to misuse, negligence, or accident or that have been altered by someone other than Adapt-a-Stop. This Warranty is in lieu of all other warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. No person, agent or dealer is authorized to give any further warranties on behalf of Adapt-a-Stop unless such Warranty is in writing and signed by an officer of Adapt-a-Stop. Adapt-a-Stop guarantees the quality and functionality of its products when used in the correct manner as illustrated on the installation instructions (see Installation Instructions page). In cases of warranty disputes, Adapt-a-Stop reserves the right of the final judgment and/or decision on the nature and cause of damage and the fair and applicable warranty response and/or solution.

Applicable Law, Dispute, Etc.

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to principles of conflict of laws. If a dispute arises under this agreement, we agree to first try to resolve it with the help of a mutually agreed-upon mediator in California. Any costs and fees other than attorney fees associated with the mediation will be shared equally by each of us. If it proves impossible to arrive at a mutually satisfactory solution through mediation, we agree to submit the dispute to binding arbitration in California, under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. Judgment upon the award rendered by the arbitration may be entered in any court with jurisdiction to do so.

If any provision of this Agreement is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, the parties agree that its remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect, provided that the allocation of risks described herein is given effect to the fullest extent possible. Our failure to act with respect to a breach by you or others does not waive our right to act with respect to subsequent or similar breaches. You agree that no joint venture, partnership, employment or agency relationship exists between you and AdaptaStop.com (Adapt-a-Stop) or its affiliates as a result of this Agreement or your use of the Site.

Terms & Return Policy

Inspect Upon Delivery

Upon the acceptance of delivery, customer agrees that the package(s) have arrived without any visible shipping damage. If shipping damage is noted, customer signs for the delivery as damaged and contacts Adapt-a-Stop within 72 hours of receipt.  Promptly submit a copy of the shipping claim to Adapt-a-Stop. Failure to sign for the package(s) as damaged, refusal of the package, or neglecting to note after 3 business days any damage that may have occurred during the shipping process will be treated as a warranty claim and are subject to the terms and conditions of our warranty.

Product Hardware Returns Policy

All product hardware returns must be noted to an Adapt-a-Stop representative 3 business days after receipt of the product and are subject to a 25% restocking fee/charge. Adapt-a-Stop will not accept the return of a used or custom made product. Examples of such product hardware may include: brackets, bars, nuts, bolts, and washers.

Product should be returned in the manner in which it was received. All orders from Adapt-a-Stop may be returned within 3 business days of receipt for a full refund with the exception of the products listed below. In order to return or exchange (under the warranty guidelines described below) all or part of your order, you must contact us for a Return Merchandise Authorization number (RMA#). You must call or e-mail within 3 days of receipt to obtain an RMA# from a Adapt-a-Stop representative. The option to issue a return label/call tag is at the discretion of Adapt-a-Stop for any warranty or claim situation and any product outside of 3 days will not have the option for a return label/call tag. 

All returned merchandise is shipped at the customer’s expense and must be returned unused in the original packaging with the authorization (RMA#) clearly printed on the outside of the package. Any free items must be returned together with purchased items in order to receive a full refund. Any shipping and/or handling charges on the original order cannot be refunded. Any vouchers or gift certificates earned by a returned order will be voided, and the voucher amount will be charged to any order to which it was applied.

Adapt-a-Stop reserves the right to request documentation in the forms of photos, copies of packing slips and the like to ensure the issue is resolved promptly. “Standard questions” may also be asked in order to provide accurate and timely customer service. Failure to provide the necessary information requested by a Adapt-a-Stop Representative may delay the claim process. An RMA/Case number may be issued depending on the warranty/claim. This number must be used in regards to all correspondence with the issue and adhered to any packaging sent to Adapt-a-Stop for assessment. Failure to adhere RMA/Case information to a package will delay the claim/warranty process. Should you need to return a product due to order cancellation or any reason other than a warranty matter, Adapt-a-Stop reserves the right to carry out a full inspection of the product before accepting the return.

Customized Item Returns Policy

Customized product orders do not apply to the product hardware return policy stated above. Customized items include but are not limited to any graphics, customizable colors, or other special order items. Customized items will not be able to be returned outside of standard warranty issues. If there is any question as to whether the product can be returned or not, please ask an Adapt-a-Stop representative.

Shipping

Adapt-a-Stop will not be held liable for any delays in the shipping of products. Any delivery times indicated are only estimates. These estimates should not be misconstrued as actual amounts of time for production. Adapt-a-Stop will also not be held liable for any third party carrier delaying in the delivery of products. All claims must be processed directly with the third party carrier. Adapt-a-Stop will honor its return policy for products that are not received in a customer’s expected time-frame. However, please review the Return Policy to make sure your order can be returned.

Adapt-a-Stop is not responsible for shipping costs or damage on returned items including returns of defective products. Units to be returned should be packed carefully. Please be advised that packages sent by regular US Postal Service cannot be tracked to ensure delivery. Since Adapt-a-Stop cannot provide credit for a return without confirming its receipt, we recommend that you use a delivery service that can be tracked and/or insured.

Change Orders & Order Cancellations

All change orders must be made in writing to Info@Adaptastop.com. Any verbal change orders will not be accepted. Change orders include but are not limited to changes in shipping addresses, changes in order timeframes, or changes in products purchased. 

All change orders are subject to additional charges or refunds when applicable. All change orders are subject to a restocking fee up to 50% of the purchase/sales price. All payments for change orders must be paid in full for a change order to be accepted and moved onto the next step in production or shipping.

All order cancellations must be made in writing to Info@Adaptastop.com. When an order is cancelled after the order has been placed, the order may be subject to cancellation charges which will be deducted from the refunded amount. If an order is completed and shipped, no order cancellation will be accepted. All order cancellations are subject to a restocking fee up to 75% of the purchase/sale price.

Adapt-a-Stop reserves the right to change prices or product designs as well as discontinue a product at any time without further notice. If a product is noted as defective that is a discontinued product; an exchange to an equivalent product will be offered or an upgrade to a premium product (at the discretion of Adapt-a-Stop) will be available with the customer responsible for the difference in cost.
